3 Summer Car Care Tips That You Need To Know

It’s summertime once again. While the days get longer, they also tend to get busier as well. With all the running around to and from work or wherever the kids want to go, your vehicle needs to be in the best shape possible.

Is your car up for the task of running all summer long? We here at Collins Auto Care want you to know that our services are available for a regular vehicle checkup. A regular checkup is a lot better than just showing up for those “critical issues” that have to be addressed.

If you want to keep your car on the road this summer and prevent further problems, here are a few summer car care tips that our mechanics in your town recommend that you should take to heart:

Change the oil

Your vehicle should be a well-oiled machine (and rightfully so). So you might want to change the oil every season. That way, your vehicle will not only keep the inner parts lubricated, but your engine can also stay cool even when the air temperatures get crazy hot. Also, your oil keeps the engine clean so it’s less likely to have some kind of problem even during the busiest of times.

Check your tires regularly

When it comes to your tires, they need to be checked on a regular basis. Make sure that the tire pressure is between 30 to 35 PSI (check your owner’s manual for precise specifications). Also, check the last time they have been rotated.

Your tires must be rotated every 3,000 to 6,000 miles. Rotations are important so they can last longer and your fuel economy is maintained. If the tires appear to be “bald”, replacing them outright is the best choice.

Make sure your battery is working well

A car battery can and will fail you at the worst possible time. Plus, the heat can also cause problems. Be sure to test the battery by yourself or while you are taking it to Collins Auto Care for routine maintenance.

In fact, a battery test is what our mechanics do as part of the maintenance that we do. Plus, we can replace the battery at a low cost if we feel that it’s necessary. After all, we do offer a 5 year, 50,000-mile warranty for any parts we install.
