Give Collin’s Auto Care a call today to set up a service appointment so we can inspect your car, truck, or utility vehicle’s air conditioner to make certain it is ready for summer. We will check the air conditioning system thoroughly and make any necessary repairs. We will also make sure that you have plenty of refrigerant in the system so you have cold and refreshing air blowing through the vents all summer long. Let’s talk more below about some of the things that are included in our AC service.
Compressor
The compressor is an auto part that does not like to rest. Because you have not run your car’s AC throughout the winter, the compressor might malfunction the first time you turn on the air conditioner this summer. As such, we will test the compressor to make sure that it is working properly. You need the compressor to compress the refrigerant gas into a liquid so it can circulate it.
Condenser
As the refrigerant circulates through the air conditioning system, it gets hot. The condenser is there to cool off the refrigerant by using the air that flows in through the grille. The condenser also uses a fan to help it reduce the refrigerant’s temperature. Because the condenser is located directly behind the grille it can get clogged and damaged by road debris. We will inspect the condenser thoroughly.
Condenser Fan
We will also inspect and test the condenser fan to make sure that it turns on every time the AC turns on. You need the condenser fan to help the condenser cool off the refrigerant or you will end up with warm or hot air blowing out of the vents. We will make sure that the condenser fan is in excellent shape. If it isn’t, we will install a new condenser fan into your air conditioning system.
Electrical System
You also need a fully functional electrical system in order for the air conditioner in your automobile to work. As such, we will inspect the system and replace any frayed wires, worn relays, or blown fuses. We will make sure that you can rely on the electrical system to power your car’s AC.
Refrigerant
Finally, as mentioned above, we will check the level of refrigerant in the air conditioning system and top it off if it needs it. You need plenty of refrigerant in the system for it to blow cold air.
